On Monday, August 31st, the Opening Carnival held at University of Helsinki’s City Centre Campus kicked off the beginning of the academic year once again. The campus streets and buildings filled up with students as the university’s numerous student organizations presented themselves, welcoming freshmen and recruiting new members. The event was brightened by music, sunlight, and lots of smiling faces.
The day was sunny and warm, and students enjoyed the festive atmosphere around campus.
The main building was packed with people, to the satisfacion of different student organizations promoting their activities and recruiting new members.
The carnival guests were entertained by a bouncy castle (for what would a carnival be without one?) offering everybody an opportunity to let loose and get in touch with their inner child.
Her Campus Helsinki was there doing promotion the whole day, and the team was beaming with positive energy. Their efforts were rewarded in the end: over fifty new people expressed their interest in joining Her Campus and signed the recruitment list!
