This week we caught up with campus cutie, Tyler Tui, to learn more about his fabulous life. This busy guy has been able to create a career path, find his passion, and reach some of his goals in the matter of a few years. Underneath all of the hard work is a fun-loving, funny guy who is always down to have a good time. There’s a lot more to Tui than meets the eye!

How and why did you start your job?
I actually worked for Sephora for two years, got hired as a makeup artist by accident since that was the only job opened; I was scared because I was artistically challenged. They put me in head first on the first day, trained me, and I grew from there.
If you could give yourself a look right now, what would that be?
I would probably do an all natural complexion, with nicely groomed eyebrows since they are a nice feature. Something soft and natural because I like basic stuff for men.
In the future what do you want to do?
I just want to ultimately be happy, be successful and share my skills and passion with the world.
What is one thing people should know about you?
There’s more than what you see. A lot of people take me as a serious and intimidating person but when you get to know me I am a fun person. Things aren’t as they appear.
What do you do for fun?
I’m a spontaneous kind of guy. I like to do random adventures as they happen. I love spending time with people and my friends; I don’t like wasting my time, it’s not defined by money.
What do you look for in a person?
I love honesty. You have to have passion for what you are doing: goals and dreams. You have to have a good sense of humor and a really big heart. When you are looking at another person, I don’t care about your past, all I care about is where you’re going and where we are going together.
Tell me about your model experiences.
It happened by chance: I recently lost a lot of weight and started getting more physically fit. I was approached by a scout from a local modeling agency, the process blew up from there. Photography was something that I loved and before I really modeled, I modeled for my friends. I have a show coming up this month too!
If you could be a type of makeup, what would you be?
A lipstick, cause I love to be all over somebody’s lips.
What color lipstick would you be?
Nude, for reasons obvious.
What song are you currently obsessed with?
I am obsessed with a lot of songs. My top 3 would be John Doe by B.oB., All of me by John Legend, and G.U.Y by Lady Gaga.
