My Favorite Local Business: Sugar Sugar Hawai’i

This week, I would love to spotlight my favorite local business and my favorite place to get clothes: Sugar Sugar Hawai’i. The store was originally a jewelry atelier, according to their website, but they have since branched out to mainly sell clothing, accessories, and home decor in order to uplift local artists. They sell different products in each of their four locations, and they keep a rough balance of 80% local artistry and 20% in-house products that can be found in other locations.

Aside from that, I do also love the clothes from Sugar Sugar Hawai’i. The vibe of these stores are a perfect mix between cottagecore and beachy. I can get a poofy sleeved floral nap dress for dinners and the occasional Instagram picture, while also getting some shorts and a cute cover up set for the beach.

Just to give a brief overview: I purchased a gorgeous yellow floral nap dress straight out of a Pinterest board for about $40- $50. It’s a little bit more expensive than my normal shopping (as a broke college student), but these dresses are perfect to buy on a mini splurge.

Sugar Sugar Hawai’i also sells cute pins, stickers, and patches, priced at $3-5 a piece. It’s honestly the perfect place for tote bag and hydroflask girlies to shop at. They do also have several incense scents, candles, and even some relaxing teas (definitely a must for finals week).

All in all, I just have to say that this business is one of my favorites! I can get adorable outfits for reasonable prices, and I can feel good about supporting local businesses and artists instead of money-hungry corporations.
