Now that I am just two months away from completing my freshman year of college, I have compiled a list of my dorm must-haves that I feel everyone should invest in.

  1. A printer: An item I was reluctant to buy but has saved me many walks to and from the library!  It may seem like a waste of space and money but this is one of the most convenient items on my desk.
  2. Small vacuum: Something I did not think about when purchasing items for my room was a vacuum cleaner. For messes, big and small, a vacuum cleaner is essential for a clean freak like me! A powerless one is best when you do not want to make a lot of noise
  3. Tote bags in various sizes: Having reusable bags for carrying groceries, packages, or trips to the mall is essential and can save the planet! Many stores sell them in various sizes and designs.
  4. Comfy pillows: Whether you are doing homework or watching a movie, having comfortable pillows will not only make you more comfortable but also help make your room homier! Such pillows can be found on amazon at good prices!
  5. Dedicated storage bin for snacks: Having a dedicated place for food will help especially when you are up late studying for exams or completing assignments. Also, bags and clips to close snacks in bags can keep the unwanted bugs away! I call mine my “pantry box”!

Overall these items not only made my life much easier, saved money but also helped me make my dorm room feel like home!
