DIY Valentine’s Day Gift (For Her and Him)

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hawaii chapter.

The top questions on everyone’s minds lately are, “What do I get for Valentine’s Day?” and “What do I do on Valentine’s Day?”  Whatever route you take, you can never go wrong with a thoughtful, personalized gift. Put together a cute arrangement of everything your loved one likes and present it on Valentine’s Day, or get together and create! Use this idea for a romantic evening with the apple of your eye.

1. Firstly, know your Valentine and find out his/her favorite food and wine.

2. When you’ve got that down, go out and buy all of the ingredients needed to create the meal (yes, all of the ingredients, whether you have them or not).  And don’t forget the wine.

3. Any ingredient that can be put into an appropriate fitting jar, do so (jars are very trendy right now). If not, tupperware.

4. Paint or paper and string wrap the lids.

6. Label each jar or container with the ingredient or item name.

7. Place all food items and wine into your choice of box, bag, or container. (Highly recommended to decorate this holder as well.)

Tip: The addition of any extra items never hurts.  For example, the flowers and chocolate, a cute mixtape, favorite movie, a card, framed photo, etc.

8. Present this to your date and have a fun night.

Voila! You have a cute, thoughtful, and yummy 2-in-1 gift and date for Valentine’s Day. If you haven’t got yourself a Valentine yet, try this one out and maybe you’ll get lucky.
