Insanely Infectious: From Pretty Lights To Ellie Goulding to Mat Zo

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Haverford chapter.

This week’s Insanely Infectious has got a bit of everything. Whether you need that perfect study soundtrack or a song to put on blast Saturday night, I’ve got you covered. Enjoy!

Pretty Lights- So Bright
“So Bright” is Pretty Lights’ latest, a glitched out track featuring original samples that leaked off of his upcoming album. Since he gives away his music for free, Derek Vincent Smith went ahead and released it so if you’re feeling it make sure you head over to the Pretty Lights website for the free download.

Chris Webby ft. Bun B & Kid Ink- Wait a Minute
Here’s a tune off of Chris Webby’s latest mixtape, Bars on Me. Featuring a “Please Mr. Postman sample, Bun B, and Kid Ink this is classic Webby, smooth and catchy.

Above and Beyond- Alchemy (Club Mix)
Above and Beyond treat us to the club mix of their gorgeous track “Alchemy,” featuring Zoe Johnston. Turn this one up and enjoy.

Ellie Goulding- Figure 8
This one is straight off of Ellie’s upcoming album, Halycon, due out October 9.  Of course it’s a stunning, electro-infused ballad. Make sure to pick up her album next Tuesday.

Mumford & Sons- Hopeless Wanderer
“Hopeless Wanderer” is one of the most instnatly lovable tracks off of the Brits’ latest, Babel.  Starting out slow, it builds up to an agressive chorus that is nothing less than memorable.

Velvetine- The Great Divide (Seven Lions Remix)
Seven Lions delivers on this dubstep remix of Velvetine’s “Great Divide.” Its smooth vibe is just enough not to overpower the beauty of Velvetine’s track.

GUILTY PLEASURE
Of Monsters and Men- Little Talks (Dendix and StarBeam Bootleg Mix)

You’ve probably heard “Little Talks” by now, and if you haven’t, well I don’t really know what to say.  Anyway, this remix is funky and refreshing.  It does just enough to bring out the original track, but still adds a fun twist.

MUST LISTEN MIX
Mat Zo Guest Mix on Arty’s Together We Are

If you’re looking for some music to study to, look no further than Mat Zo’s guest mix on Arty’s radio show, Together We Are.Coming in at around an hour, Mat Zo gives you a taste of multiple genres as he transitions between mash-ups and originals, all with his signature trance base. I’ve heard that listening to classical music while you study helps you concentrate, but ditch the Mozart and go for the Mat Zo.
