Netflix has been known for canceling series that have gotten a great deal of attention. It seems that they are doing this on purpose, the way they are feeding us really good series and only just a little. With this era of not watching cable and just strictly streaming stations, Netflix has become one of the biggest streaming industries. There are shows that should’ve never had the chance to be on air and there were shows that were so good, you couldn’t watch them. Those shows unfortunately only had 1 season and ended up getting canceled. There were many shows that failed to captivate audiences with their stories. Let’s talk about the top 5 shows that didn’t deserve to be canceled:

  1. Inside Job

This show “Inside Job” is an animated comedy about a job working to shape world events. The team navigates absurd situations while carrying out their questionable tasks. There is a lot of humor in this show, it really was similar to Human Resources, and Big Mouth. I really enjoyed this show, the crazy part about it ending so soon that I was left on a cliffhanger.

  1. Human Resources

Like I said before, Inside Job and Big Mouth were very similar to this show. Shows like these seem to have gotten high ratings and audiences seemed to enjoy it. The show was humor, science fiction, and satire, which explores themes of identity, culture clash and offers an entertaining take on the space world experience. With Nick Kroll, being one of the directors related to shows like Big Mouth, It was something you could watch if you enjoyed shows like that . This is a show that I dearly miss, it had a very entertaining plot and each episode had something new and fun happening.

  1. Grand Army

This series revolves around the lives of 5 high school students attending the fictional Grand Army High School in Brooklyn, New York. This shows talks about the challenges and experiences that were faced by teenagers as they navigate issues such as racial identity, sexuality, gender dynamics, and socioeconomic disparities. Grand Army explores themes of social justice, and learning the growth of students through different storylines. This binge worthy show was everything the world needed to hear, it talked about real life experiences and stories that no one could really talk about could really relate to. After the show was finished and we had to wait months to see if it was getting a second season, the cast really bonded with one another. We were so hopeful that the season would get renewed, but when we got the news that it was canceled, the media was so mad; it was one of the biggest shows that didn’t get renewed.

  1. The Society

This series was one of the biggest shows on netflix when it first came out. It revolved around a group of tennagers who find themselves somewhere with any adults, and it seems as though they were cut off from the rest of the world. The show explores themes of leadership, morality, and fragility of societal structures. It was a dramatic show that showed a life without adults. These high school students had to make their own society, fend for themselves, and talks about the struggles within who will be the leader and the struggles in relationships.

  1. I am Not Okay With This

This series is a story about a girl named Sydney, a teenage girl navigating the challenges of high school while grappling with her emerging superpowers. She tries to understand and control her abilities, a very coming of age type of show. It talks about teen angst, supernatural power and dark humor, which talks about a compelling narrative which is about identity, elf discovery and the understanding of adolescence. This show seems to really correlate with people who were in high school and seems very out of place with the fiction part about superpowers. This show was one of the best Netflix series and it still got canceled.

The world of television has a very excessive amount of streaming platforms and different themes. These shows capture audiences’ hearts and minds that compel narratives and memorable characters. These shows talk about the struggle and real life experiences whether it’s a live action show or a cartoon, there are still relatable scenes in these shows. As viewers we can hope that these shows will not be canceled but it seems that these production companies make sure that the show will make money from the show, and if it seems that it’s not it’s a tough call to pull the plug. I know people want to understand what the criteria is to keep a show going. To this day it seems these shows are still being talked about, especially with the injustice of being left on a cliffhanger.
