Christmas is right around the corner and it’s time to show your love for the people closest to you. The people who love you most can be the hardest to shop for. What’s something you can give to show your appreciation? Here’s a quick list of inexpensive ideas to help you out!

Plants

Empty nest syndrome is real and it can help your parents to have something to take care of. You can choose from a variety of succulents, house plants, and flowers. These green friends are easy to keep and perfect for nature loving parents. Put them in a nice container and decorate it. It’ll brighten up their home.

Scrapbook/Cards

If your artistically inclined, try making a scrapbook or handmade card. Get some pictures of yourself and some art supplies to start.  Color, paint, modge podge, add stickers, and sprinkle some glitter. Be creative! Parent’s love thoughtful handmade gifts of any kind.

Candles

This simple yet classic gift goes a long way. It’s a great way to help your parents relax. Pick a scent that you’ll know they’ll love. To go the extra mile find a candle holder. Try making your own or pick out one from the store.

Socks

Everybody could use another pair of socks. Depending on what your parents like pick out a pair that’s unique. They could be fluffy or have a neat pattern. Maybe get festive and find a Christmas pair.

Games

The older we all get the harder it can be to find ways to spend time with each other. Getting your parents a new board or card game will bring fun to any family celebration. Competition can make things interesting. Who doesn’t love uno?

Sweets

Pick out a bag of candy or bake some cookies. Everybody loves sugar! Homemade cookies are timeless way to show your love for someone but candy never hurts.

Mug

An extra mug for coffee and tea is always a great gift. Parents get busy and need something to put their hot caffeinated beverages in. They come in a variety of shapes and designs so it’s easy to find one that fits for your parents.

Whatever you decide to give them, parents always appreciate the thought behind it. At the end of the day it doesn’t matter what the gift was, it matters how much love is given with it. Time spent with family can be the most important gifts. Be sure to give them a big hug! Don’t worry too much about presents but hopefully this list gave you some ideas.
