How does it feel to be this weeks Campus Celebrity?

It’s very flattering. Do I think I’m a celebrity? No. I try to get involved in a lot of things on campus, and I know people that way, but I’m flattered at the notion.

Since you are very involved on campus, what was your greatest GW moment?

I think it all started when I was part of the 2011 Colonial Inauguration Cabinet. I think that CI is a very GW concept and it was just an amazing experience to be a part of. As far as a DC moment, when Osama Bin Laden was killed the May of my freshman year everyone ran to the White House cheering. The same thing happened when Obama was reelected. When in your life will you have the opportunity to just run to the White House and start singing God Bless America?

What do you do to balance your busy schedule and de-stress?

My iCal is my best friend. Everything I’m doing is on my iCal, and if it’s not there it doesn’t happen. In the morning I make a little note of what I have to do for the day. As far as de-stressing, I like to go to the gym. I’ve just started doing yoga which is a very funny site I’m sure. I also like to golf and travel as much as possible either back home or to Florida or to other schools.

Let’s talk about Program Board and Fall Fest. What was the process like planning this major GW event?

It was craziness and it started literally the day after Spring Fling ended last year. I was Concerts Co-chair last year so I was a part of the Macklemore concert in the spring, and then the next day we started looking at up-and-coming artists that fit into our budget for the fall.

You were in charge of securing Timeflies and DJ Earworm for Fall Fest this year. How do you think that was received by the student body?

I think it was amazing and really fun. Timeflies is really popular with the college crowd and I think their ability to free style rap is so cool and fun. I loved the GW rap they made up! I thought it was great.

What can we expect for Spring Fling this year?

We have just started working on it, even though it’s only 1 week after Fall Fest. No real plans yet.

Do you think you can top Macklemore?

Macklemore was great because he really blew up after he came here. We don’t really have control over how successful an artist becomes, but can we “top” it? We shall see.

What is on your senior year bucket list?

GW Alt Breaks, a White House tour, and securing a job!
