Kiehl’s is an American beauty brand that specializes in skin, hair, and body care products. The first store opened as a single pharmacy in 1851, in New York City, NY. With 79 locations in the United States, the closest store to GW is located on M St. in Georgetown. The retailer has many products specific to men and women, as well as a wide array of products for oily and dry skin, thin and thick hair, and more. They advertise as a natural beauty brand, stating they source their product ingredients from plants and naturally-derived sources. Like many other beauty brands, Kiehl’s is moving towards a paraben-free, sulfate-free, and fragrance-free brand. As an avid Kiehl’s consumer, I have tried many of their products in various beauty categories. Here are some of my all-time favorites!

This mask is perfect to use after a shower to minimize pores. It is advertised online as “an efficacious Amazonian White Clay mask that helps minimize pores and detoxify skin.” The main ingredient is Amazonian Clay which helps remove oil and dead skin. The clay detoxifies and minimizes pores. The mask also helps to smooth and even skin. Apply a thin layer of the mask to damp skin and leave on for 10 minutes. Ultra Facial Cream

Kiehl’s best selling facial moisturizer, the Ultra Facial Cream, is the best moisturizer I have ever used! It is the perfect texture and weight for all day moisture and is advertised as a 24 hour daily moisturizer. It is also good for all skin types. The main ingredients are glacial glycoprotein and squalane. Glacial Glycoprotein is derived from sea glaciers and is known to be able to thrive in extreme climates. Squalane which is derived from sea glaciers and can thrive in extreme climates. Squalane is an oil derived from oils and known for restoring the skin’s moisture barrier. Kiehl’s states the moisturizer will leave skin smoother, softer, and visibly healthier. The 1 fluid ounce jar is $18, the 1.7 fluid ounce jar is $30, and the 4.2 fluid ounce jar is $50.

Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado

This award winning, cooling, and moisturizing eye treatment’s main ingredients are avocado oil, beta-carotene, and shea butter. I apply a little pinky amount in the morning, after washing my face and before putting makeup on. It is cool as it is applied under the eyes and soaks into the skin quickly. The treatment is for all skin times, including sensitive skin. A 0.5 fluid ounce jar is $30 and a 0.95 fluid ounce jar is $48.

Kiehl’s has many other products that are great for hair care and skin care. They also have great products for men, including the Facial Fuel Energizing Moisture Treatment for Men and Body Fuel Hair and Body Wash.
