The idea of social distancing is something that has come into everyone’s lives all around the world in recent weeks. The idea of socially isolating yourself from the outside world to help slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus is proving to be effective but unusual to many. Whether you are an extrovert or an introvert, staying indoors all day can be quite the adjustment for many. When Netflix and the couch are so close to you all day, it is hard to resist the urges of wanting to eat endless snacks and lounge around in your pajamas all day. I want to give you all three tips to try that can make you feel a bit better about being stuck indoors, and also how to stay productive when social distancing.

Set An Alarm and Get Out Of Bed

I don’t know about you, but I have been sleeping-in way too late during this quarantine and it has been making my days feel less productive. Try setting an alarm for 8 or 9am, or maybe for the time you would normally wake up during the week to go to classes. This will definitely make your day feel longer and you will feel more motivated to get things done.

Create a TO-DO List

In the morning when you wake up or maybe the night before try and write out a list or schedule of what you want/need to get done throughout the day. We are all lacking a proper structure and routine while being in isolation, so creating a schedule for yourself can help to put you back on track.

Take A Moment for Yourself

With everything going on in the world right now, it is very obvious that many of us are experiencing lots of stress and anxiety. The reality is, the future is unknown, and a lot of this situation is out of our control. Try to wake up every morning and remember to be thankful for where you are and who you are with. Maybe write in your journal, read a couple pages of your book, meditate or even pray. A simple task that helps you feel grounded and relaxed can really help during these stressful times to start your day off right.
