Meet Campus Cutie: Jordan Campbell!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at GSU chapter.

Name: Jordan Campbell

Major: Biology

Year: Fall 2016

Hometown: Lawrenceville

Relationship Status: Taken…and her favorite song is Knuck if you Buck!

Her Campus: What makes Jordan, Jordan?

JC: I’m really sarcastic with pretty much everything that I do, yet I do have a genuinely caring side. I fight for what and who I love and do my best to make the people I respect the most, proud. While I do like people, I won’t ever change who I am to the core to appease anyone because I feel as though God made me who I am for a specific reason.

HC: Why did you choose GSU?

JC: I didn’t choose GSU. God chose GSU for me. I was going to UAB for their medical program and around the time I was getting ready to go my parents separated.  So I decided to come to GSU  last minute and have made the most out of ever since.

HC: What has been your favorite experience at GSU so far?

JC:  My favorite experiences so far in chronological order would be:

 1.) How I met Mika.

2.) Being front row at the Kendrick Lamar Pantherpalooza concert

3.) Crossing Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.

HC: What are your plans after graduation?

JC: After graduation, I want to go to graduate school for Virology or Public Health.

HC: How would people describe you?

JC: No chill, very blunt, and friendly. People call me and Mika their parents a lot.

HC: What is your dream job?

JC:My dream job is to work at the CDC and to be able to travel and work on outbreaks of diseases around the world.

HC:  What is a quote that you live by?

JC: “Matthew 7:3 Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye”.  I can’t criticize anyone else for what they don’t do, if I don’t have my own stuff together.

HC: What are your favorite things to do?

JC: Socialize. Be around friends

HC: Where is your favorite place on campus?

JC: Mika’s room.

HC: You date our Campus Celeb, Jamika King, how long have you two been together?

JK: 2 years and 8 months as of 2/4/16… officially. We’ve been talking for longer than that though.

HC: What are 3 words you would use to describe you two’s relationship?

JK: Goal – oriented, because we support each others goals. Outlandish, because we keep it interesting. Comedic, because we always keep each other laughing.

HC: What is the foundation of you and Jamika’s relationship?

JK: Trust, because we’ve come a long way with that. We understand each other’s flaws and accept them. Chill time, well “JAM time”, Jordan and Mika time, is the best thing that we can have. We came up with it like freshman year. It’s our special time.

HC: How do you balance school, being so involved, and a relationship?

JK:  Going along with what Mika said, I think we challenge each other. If I know Mika can do something and she’s not putting forth her best effort, I’ll be the first person to criticize her but,  I’ll also be the first person to let her know she can do it as well.  Also it’s the people we hang around. With her 38 line sisters and my 9 line brothers, if we aren’t together we always end up talking about each other, really. Whether it is a good thing or a bad thing.

HC: What is you favorite thing about Jamika?

JK: The first are her eyes, I love the way she looks at me. Also her laugh, people don’t like her laugh; but I love it, it’s funny.

HC: Do you any advice for new couples on how to last?

JK: Patience is key and getting to know who a person is under everything is also important.  As a  freshman, you really put up a front on who you really are, because to be honest you don’t know who you really are. Having a person guide you and help you find who you really are is nothing to be ashamed of. People get caught up in talking to people. When you get so caught up in just talking to a person, you are  really never going to get to know them on a deeper level because it’s only temporary.
