“We are the leaders we have been  waiting for.”

That is the message that the Women’s March leaders conveyed this past weekend. Their main event was held in Las Vegas, Nevada. Called Power to the Polls, the purpose of this event was to encourage national voter registration a year after the incredibly remarkable Women’s March on Washington in 2017.  The leaders will be taking this movement on tour where they aim to register new voters in swing states.

The inspirational women leading this movement are focused on transforming the social norms and stereotypes of women, to better society for all. This movement is one that is rising to the occasion of exposing the suppressed voices and stories that have the right to be told. These human rights should be universal and this fight liberates men and women worldwide.

In Spokane, Washington, over 5,000 people showed up on January 21, 2017 for nonviolent protesting to advocate for policies regarding human rights. In 2018, many gathered to continue the tradition to stand for the rightfully deserved rights of all humans.
