Reactions to the Roses: 3 Week Recap

Hello Bachelor Nation and welcome back to Reactions to the Roses! I am so excited you decided to return to read my commentary on the greatest show ever, The Bachelor!  Last week I talked about the first night the ladies arrived at the Mansion.  This week I thought I’d do a recap of the last three weeks and then talk about what happened last night!  What a crazy week! So here we go!

Week two began with a group date where the girls went back to high school with Ben.  Chris Harrison played a mean principal and the whole thing was a bit hokey.  Mandi, crazy dentist girl, was crowned homecoming queen and JoJo got the group date rose.  Woowoo!  No creativity in that date, ABC.

Caila went on the FIRST one-on-one date of the season, which put a target on her back in the Mansion I’m sure.  They end up in a hot tub in with Kevin Hart and Ice Cub.  Needless to say Ice Cube and Hart were the best part of the date.  Caila gets the rose.

The next group date, the girls go to a science lab to test to see if they have chemistry with Ben.  Unfortunately, Sam smells “sour” to Ben and she ends up going home that week. Olivia continues to believe she is the perfect match for Ben and that she has no competition here.  Clearly we know she becomes crazy.

That week girls go home that we haven’t seen much, so no loss or gain.  On to the next! (P.S. Lace is still here, even though she claims she’s not crazy three times in this episode.)

Week three starts off with a one-on-one for Lauren B, who is a flight attendant and they take a little tiny plane, which takes them to a hot tub in the middle of a desert.  Sure, that’s realistic ABC.  Lauren and Ben hit it off right away and you can tell Ben really likes her.  She gets the rose.  I think Ben would say Lauren B is

During the group date, the girls play soccer with some women from the US National team (go Girl Power!) and all of the girls look crazy.  It is very apparent one of them played soccer growing up.  The winning team goes to a cocktail party and no one really stands out. Amber gets the rose.

Jubilee gets the next one-on-one and she makes a comment about not wanting to go as Ben picks her up.  The girls are up in arms and think she’s not coming back after the date.  Oh ABC, you have edited perfectly again.  Jubilee opens up to Ben about her past, and she, of course, gets the rose.

During the cocktail party, Ben announces his family friends died in a car crash earlier that day.  Naturally, Olivia pulls him away and starts to cry because of HER CANKLES.  You read that right, THE GIRL IS CRYING ABOUT HER FAT FEET.  Ben can’t hide his disbelief and their conversation ends quickly.  Olivia is reprimanded by getting the “final rose of the evening”.  Gosh, I hate this show sometimes.

Lace bows out somewhat gracefully (she’s reached the end of her dynamite stick), and leaves the house before she can get too hurt.  The girl who can’t really speak English leaves along with someone else who we barely saw. At least there’s still Olivia!

Last week, everyone headed to Vegas, the marriage capital of the country.  JoJo and Ben take a helicopter ride where they end up watching fireworks from a really tall building.  She’s cute, but does she have enough to stay long term?  We will have to see.

The group date consists of the women showing off their talents.  Olivia does a strip tease WHICH IS HILARIOUSLY AWKWARD.  If you haven’t seen it, please go watch.  It’s great.  Olivia become upset and embarrassed afterward and has a “panic attack”. She recovers and keeps apologizing to Ben, which might have been more awkward than her dance.

Lauren B gets the group rose (he likes her a lot) and Olivia cries.

Ben goes on a one-on-one with Becca, who I still love by the way, and they marry couples in a little chapel.  She gets a rose and I am starting to see that they could make it.  Maybe second time is the charm?  Will she still be a virgin at the end of this?  Who knows!

Ben takes the twins on a 2-on-1 date in their hometown of Vegas, and sends Haley packing, although I don’t think he could tell them apart.  Their mom seems very normal which confuses me because the girls listed their occupation as twin, so they have to be nuts.  Emily comes back with Ben to the hotel and off to the rose ceremony they go.

Amber and Rachel (who?) leave. I guess third time isn’t the charm for you Amber. Maybe try a new reality franchise?  Married at First Sight?  Just a thought.

This brings me to this week!  Hallelujah!

Week 5 Recap!

Wow! And what a week it was! This week the crew headed to Mexico City to see if they could find love.  On the first date card that arrived, Amanda was invited to spend some one-on-one time with Ben.  We then see footage of Ben waking the girls up very early in the morning and they all look like they have been through the wringer.  Surprisingly, Amanda already has her makeup on and looks fab. (Did she pull a Britt and wear her makeup to bed? Or did the producers give her a heads up?) Off the beautiful couple goes to ride in a hot air balloon (also very Britt-esque) over the Mexican pyramids.  Amanda opens up about her divorce and how her kids mean the world to her.  Ben gives her a rose.  Her Minnie Mouse voice sticks around for another week.

The group date has Jubilee and Olivia on it, so we are sure to get some crazy!  Olivia pounces on Ben for the partner challenge, and the girls all look upset.  Especially Jubilee who won’t let her man go.  Ben notices throughout the cooking challenge that Jubilee isn’t into it WHICH MEANS DRAMA IS A COMING LADIES.  Later at the cocktail party, Ben sits down with Jubilee who admits she feels extremely jealous when Ben is around all of the other women.  Ben realizes there is no future with Jubilee (because he likes Lauren B!) and sends her packing.  The girls are shocked by the exit in the middle of a date, but ultimately are glad the non-emotional veteran is gone.  Olivia surprisingly gets the group date rose which makes Emily (the twin who is still here) angry and confused.

Lauren H (kindergarten teacher) gets the fashion week date where she has to walk down the runway with Ben.  As the girls said, no straight guy would ever wear Ben’s outfit, but that’s okay. ABC made a bunch of money off it. Lauren is perky, but a kind of boring.  She becomes vulnerable enough to get the rose, but I doubt she’ll last long.  Sorry kid.

Now time for the rose ceremony.  During the cocktail party, Amanda feels anxious about her kids.  Olivia makes a comment about how Amanda’s life is like Teen Mom.  HOLD UP. Those are fighting words!  Amanda is speechless and can’t believe Olivia would compare her life to a reality tv show (wait…).  Olivia realizes she has put her foot in her mouth yet again, (remember that cankle incident?) and starts to cry when she realizes how rude she was.  Emily tells America that Olivia is fake and calls her twin crying.  Emily reveals to Ben what has been going on in the house, and Amanda also tells Ben about how Olivia has targeted her.  Although Ben already gave Olivia a rose, in the words of sweet Becca, he makes the rules and can send her packing at any time.  Unfortunately, ABC has decided we have to wait another week to see how the rest of the drama pans out.  But I am sure that Olivia will be sent home soon, especially since the girls are talking now.

Hope you enjoyed my Reactions to the Roses and don’t forget to read next week!  There is sure to be lots of
