Here at GU, basketball rules the sports scene. We know all the players, we swoon when we see them on campus; they are our campus celebs. No doubt we might have stalked a few on social media (no shame and no judgment). We all know that one person, though, who has creeped a little harder than the rest. This girl may know a little too much about a player’s life and pretends that she knows the player personally. Now this list doesn’t just relate to basketball players, this applies to all the girls out there chasing after that jersey.
1. She attends the games…only to stare at the players
Does she actually know the score or what’s going on in the game? Probably not, but at least she’s a huge fan.
2. She goes to parties if she knows the players might be there
Rumor has it she changes all her plans just so she can have a run in with someone from the team. Don’t blame her if you got all dressed up for a night out, she’s just following her passions.
3. Has a record of dating athletes or at least hooking up with them
Her history of relationships and hookups consists mostly of athletes. She knows a lot about the sport because she’s heard stories from all the guys.
4. She stalks them on all social media
Of course she knows all their usernames. She knows their most recent post and has already liked it!
5. She texts the group message when she spots an athlete
Seeing an athlete in person on campus is the most surreal experience, so of course all of her friends are going to hear about it.
6. She talks about the team or player constantly
She wakes up thinking about them so there’s no doubt she talks about them constantly to any one who will listen (even if they’re just pretending).
7. She has the mentality “they don’t have to be cute, they just have to have a jersey”
You repeatedly ask yourself what she sees in that guy and you have to repeatedly remind yourself its because he has a jersey.
8. She can always be found sporting the team’s logo
From the shirt she’s wearing to a sticker on her computer, she always shows her love for the team.
9. She’s loyal
She’s loyal not only to the team, but her friends too. While the whole jersey chaser aspect of her can rub you the wrong ways sometimes, you love her to death because you know she is a loyal friend.
