Why My Skin Was Going Through It

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Georgia Southern chapter.

For those of you who read my article on combatting oily skin, you know that this is something that I have been struggling with for quite a while. After doing my research, I decided that the way to clear up my face was applying a million and one products to it before I went to sleep…

…and then I realized that was ahieving absolutely nothing except for an extra oily face with dry spots. So, I went back to Google.

After doing more thorough research, I realized that I had misdiagnosed my skin type and that I was doing the wrong things to take care of it. I was treating oily skin instead of combination skin, which means that there are both oily and dry spots that need to be catered to.  Applying a million and one things to my face was only clogging my pores and not providing my face with any moisture, which made all the difference when I put my makeup on.

Now all I use on my face is my Clean & Clean Sensitive Skin Facial Cleanser and 100% jojoba oil twice a day and my skin is moisturized, glowing, and clearing up. You have to be patient with your face and diagnose CORRECTLY. Don’t forget to drink water!
