This week’s Woman Crush Wednesday is L’Chavia! She is a sophomore public health major here at Georgia Southern University!
Shay, as she sometimes goes by, is an eagle through and through; she shamelessly bleeds blue. She loves the sense of community that Georgia Southern has to offer and the diversity throughout Eagle Nation. She shows her love for Georgia Southern through her participation in the intramural cheerleading team called the Southern Cheer Club.
L’Chavia is a public health major. She chose this path because it is an alternative way to get to her desired career. She loves to help people, which explains why her dream job is an obstetric and gynecology nurse practitioner. She wants to help bring new life into the world, and I think that’s pretty admirable.
Shay is the first of her siblings to finish school at a four year institution. It is clear that she is hardworking and has a clear plan for her life that she is willing to work for.
If she could go anywhere in the word, she would travel to Nigeria. She watched a film that discussed the issues that the nation faces with Mother mortality. In the film, she learned that maternal mortality is high in Nigeria due to the lack of trained professionals there. She would like to lend a helping hand to women in that nation using the skills she learns throughout her career as an obstetric and gynecology nurse practitioner.
Shay is a hardworking, big dreaming college student. It is easy to see that she is selfless and finds joy in helping people and making lives better. She is going to do great things, and the myself, along with the Georgia Southern Her Campus team are excited to see what she has in store, and we wish her the best in all of her future endeavors!
