For someone who is constantly surrounded by technology, I don’t feel connected to technology. I just simply don’t understand technology.

I know how to send a text, FaceTime and others things people my age know how to do, but sometimes I feel like I don’t belong in this era where teens my age are labeled as addicted to technology. I am guilty of the common things like checking my Twitter during a class lecture or sending my good morning streaks right when I wake up, but technology, ultimately, confuses me. There’s a lot of apps that make me wonder why these apps were created. The concepts of the apps are unique, but what’s the purpose of the creation of the app? If you haven’t run across any apps that make you ponder their existence, you will be introduced to three apps of this type in this article.

These three apps listed below are the most quaint apps I have ever seen. Maybe after looking at these apps, you will understand my confusion with today’s use of technology.

S.M.T.H. “Send Me To Heaven”

When I first heard of this app, I was totally confused. I’m that person who literally cries when I get a crack on my screen, so this app terrified me. S.M.T.H is an app for Android users where people toss their phone into the air to see who can toss their phone higher. The goal is to have the highest toss and the app will calculate how high you tossed your phone in the air. I love the concept of this game. When I was little, I loved playing a less expensive version of this game. My sisters and I would throw balls, rocks and pretty much anything we could find in the air to see who could throw the item the highest.

Thisgame was fun because nothing got broken and no one got hurt. You will definitely enjoy this app if you enjoy taking risks; however, I will definitely have to pass on this app. If I ever told my parents that I needed money for a new screen protector due to me breaking my screen playing this game, they would probably send me to heaven.

I Am Bread

This is app pretty much explains itself. You can purchase this app on iOS for $4.99 where you are provided with the opportunity to become a bread whose ultimate goal is to turn into toast. The odd part is not the success of the game, but over 900+ people have actually paid $4.99 to play this game. I don’t know how exciting a bread’s life is, but hopefully it’s worth every crumb.

$1000000

The title of this app describes the app. With $1,000,000, you are able to count $1,000,000 in either 20’s, 50’s or 100’s. This app gives you a glimpse of what it’s like to be a millionaire. I don’t really understand how this app became successful and popular, but I could see how this app could potentially be useful. Maybe one day when I become famous, this app will be useful to me.

Even though apps similar to these confuse me, I enjoy finding weird, odd apps. Every app has a background story and I definitely would like to hear the stories of some of these apps. Whether you are looking for an app that teachers you how to speak a different language or help you understand the different cries of a baby, there’s most likely an app that fits your needs.
