Southern Style Breakfast for Dinner

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Georgia Southern chapter.

Cooking is a form of art. You can eat it however and whenever you like. The truth is that here in the south people put a stern List on food in three main ways. If it is made from the heart of a southern women or man it is sweet, spicy, or crispy. Some of the most popular southern meal are those that combine these three taste. Chefs from all around the dirty south have a unique way of mixing these signature taste. One way includes combining an item from the breakfast menu with another from the dinner or lunch menu.

1. Fried Fish and Grits

  • The trick to this meals is that the fish has toe fried to perfection with a slight crisp. Some people like to add cheese to their grits. Other add a touch of hot sauce or a kick of spice.

2. Fried Chicken & Waffles

  • The key to this meal is that both items have to be crispy but not burnt. The chicken has to be properly floured. The waffle has to be all the way done so that it is not soggy.  The edges need a slight crisp. You need a squirt of  syrup to add the sweetness.

3. Chicken Biscuit

  • The main thing to remember wen making this meal it to use boneless skinless chicken breast  so that the chicken fits on the biscuit. Some people add syrup for sweetness, Others add white country gravy.
