One thing we all love about the Fall Season is when the fair arrives! Here in Statesboro everyone can’t wait to attend the Kiwanis Ogeechee Fair.
“The Kiwanis Ogeechee Fair is a long-time tradition in this area, offering great family entertainment, and a focus on the agricultural heritage that is so important to our region,” commented Kiwanis President David Beaubien. “ Thrill rides and midway games are just part of the activities available—livestock shows, a petting zoo, local entertainment, food booths, arts & crafts, student, and business exhibits, and so much more make the Kiwanis Ogeechee Fair an attraction that has something for everyone. The end result of the fair, which is the Kiwanis Club of Statesboro’s largest annual fundraiser, is that many local charities are supported.”
This year, the fair was here from October 20th – 25th. There were a range of festivities for everyone to enjoy. Each night there was a fair special. Monday night was opening night where each guest could bring a canned good and receive $2 off their admission. Tuesday and Thursday night was $18 wrist stamps for unlimited rides! Wednesday night was student night, where all students received free admission. In addition to students receiving free admissions, all rides were reduced by one ticket. There was a huge turnout for this night and we all had a great time! Friday was the fairs’ “Midnight Madness” where all guests were offered $15 wrist stamps for unlimited rides. On Saturday, there were wrists stamps for $20 and all kids rides were $1. If you missed out on the fair this year, but sure to catch it next Fall!
