“I am going to get out of here while I am still alive,I’m going to say it one more time:
We’re Georgia Southern. Our colors are blue and white. We call ourselves the Bald Eagles. We call our offense the Georgia Power Company, that is a terrific name for an offenseand our snap count is “Rate Hike.”
We practice on the banks of beautiful Eagle Creekand that’s in Statesboro, Georgia, the gnat capital of America.
Our weekends begin on Thursday. The co-eds outnumber the men three to two. They are all good lookin’ and they are all rich. And folks, you can’t beat that, and you just can’t beat Georgia Southern.
And you ain’t seen nothin’ yet.”
– Coach Erk Rusell
Mounted in Paulson Stadium, you will find this statue of our beloved Coach Erk Russell. Coach Erk was the very first head coach of Georgia Southern football, creating a standard of excellence and bringing them to three NCAA Championships.Under his guidance the Georgia Southern Eagles became the first 15–0 of the 20th century. His motto was “Just one more time” which has since turned into the slogan and chant of Georgia Southern!
