What is Collegiate 100 to someone who has never heard of it?
C100 :The Georgia Southern Chapter of The 100 Collegiate Women of America is an organization that devotes itself to creating leaders, creating strong relationships in the community, and influencing development to the younger generations.
How would someone get involved in this organization?
C 100: For someone who is interested in the organization, we ask that they follow us on Instagram, @c100womengsu, and to come to our events and to speak to get more information. We have an information session once a year, where those who are interested can apply to join.
How does C100 help those who are venturing into the business world?
C 100: This organization sets the pace of what to expect when entering a business setting, whether it involves working with others to reach a common goal, or dealing with the workplace issues such as discrimination in the workplace.
What makes C100 such an important organization on campus?
C 100: It’s the most well rounded organization due to our professionalism, community service, mentorship, health and wellness.
What are some on the things that C100 advocates?
C 100: We are very big when it comes to mentorship. We each have mentees ranging from elementary to high school. We tutor them, hang out with them, and over all just be figures that they can look up to for guidance.
What is the Party is Pink?
C 100: Party in Pink is an event that we host every year. We do this event to bring awareness to breast cancer. We held our Third Annual Party in Pink event on October 21. We collaborated with the Lambda Kappa Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Women in Action (NAACP), Student African American Sisterhood, Women of Worth and the Black Student Nursing Association. During the event, we had a speaker, a few games, lots of fresh food, and a Zumba class held by Sadia Yansaneh.
