I don’t know about all of you, but Halloween is my favorite holiday. For me, Halloween starts the second the clock hits midnight on October 1st and goes for the entire month. There are a lot of fun things to do during the Halloween season, but my favorite part is the spooky season movies.

There is nothing better than getting together with a group of girls during the month of October, making caramel apples and cute mocktails, and watching a fun movie. Here is a list of 10 of my favorite Halloween movies that would be a perfect fit for an all-girls Halloween party.

Practical Magic (1998)

Practical Magic is a movie about 2 sisters (played by Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman) who grew up in a family of witches. This is the pinnacle of Halloween vibes, and watching two cool girl witches cast spells on men is the perfect way to spend a girls’ night.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992)

Buffy the Vampire Slayer (the original movie, not the TV show) is about a high school cheerleader who also doubles as a vampire killer. It’s super fun and camp, and Buffy is the perfect bouncy, funny teenage girl character for you and your friends to watch in action this October.

Girl VS. Monster (2012)

Whether you grew up watching Disney Channel or not, you probably know this absolutely classic DCOM. Olivia Holt plays a girl with monster-catching parents, and when she accidentally sets the monsters free she has to catch them all before Halloween ends. Whether you are watching for the plot or just to hear Luke Benward sing “Had Me @ Hello,” this is such a fun movie night option.

Ready or Not (2019)

If you are looking for a bit of a scarier option, Ready or Not is the movie for you. It’s about a girl whose wedding night goes terribly wrong, and she ends up having to fight for her life. The main character is a super cool final girl, and this movie is both scary and comedic. A great spooky watch for girls who love horror movies!

The Craft (1996)

Another witchy Halloween classic is The Craft, a 1996 movie about 4 girls who start a coven at their high school and use it to cast spells on people they don’t like. The Halloween vibes are off the charts with this one, and with the main characters being a group of teen witches wearing cool outfits, it’s a great movie for girls’ night.

Night of the Comet (1984)

Night of the Comet is an end-of-the-world/zombie movie about two sisters who survive the apocalypse. Possibly my personal favorite on this list, it is very fun and VERY 80s. The perfect movie to watch with your sister or your friends this Halloween.

Bodies Bodies Bodies (2022)

Bodies Bodies Bodies is a more recent scary movie. It’s about a group of friends trying to solve the mystery of why people are dying at their party. It is very funny and the cast is made up of mostly women, so it’s a super fun flick for an October girls’ night.

Jawbreaker (1999)

Another campy girl comedy, Jawbreaker is a movie about the most popular girls in school playing a prank on their friend that goes horribly wrong. It’s fun, girly, colorful, the outfits are great, and the cast is full of recognizable 90’s icons. If you want to watch a more Halloween-y version of Mean Girls, this is the movie for you.

The Stepford Wives (2004)

This 2004 remake of a horror classic brings a completely different vibe to the table. Starring Nicole Kidman, The Stepford Wives (2004) is about a woman who moves to a seemingly perfect town but starts to notice that something strange is going on. It’s another movie with pretty colors and great outfits, and a super fun watch.

Fear Street Trilogy (2021)

Ok so, saying a list is 10 movies and then making the last number a trilogy might be cheating, but I don’t mind if you don’t! The Fear Street trilogy is 3 movies put out by Netflix that take place in different years but all connect. They are horror movies, so be warned if you get scared easily, but they all star women and make for a very fun movie marathon.

As you make your way through October, I hope these suggestions provide plenty of fun, spooky, and girly things to watch. Have fun, and happy Halloween!

Just a girl having fun and studying history at Grand Canyon!!!!!
