If you are ever concerned with being alone or single, don’t be. There are billions of people in the world who are thinking the exact same way as you are. Even though they may be thousands of miles away. Knowing that should give you some comfort that, a) you’re not going to a alone and single forever, and b) you’re not the only one that feels this way.

I have been single for a while, which I have come to terms with this as almost being okay. Then again, I’m only 19, so I would hope that there is still time to have fun and go out and meet someone. By saying that, I feel like right now is a good time for any and possibly everyone to be single. Not to shame those who are in a relationship, or who are looking for someone to be in a relationship with, but as we are now this is the best time to be on your own.

From the age of 18 to 25, these are our prime years to find ourselves, make mistakes, and really go above and beyond, with whatever we want to do. Although you could do all of this with another person. There will always be limitations. Maybe they don’t want to go cross country driving, go on a ten-mile hike, or even go across the state in a hot air balloon. It is just to have that feeling of freedom and independence, and having the mindset that you can conquer the world.

Just remember that the true and only key to being single is accepting that it’s not going to last forever…But while it does last, own it. Take time for yourself and focus on you. All that matters right now in the world, or in your world at least, is you. Don’t be afraid to be single. Don’t feel guilty for not wanting to date or like someone. If you need to do you, do it
