Meeting strangers is often uncomfortable, awkward, and frequently consists of strange silences as you try to grasp an idea to spark conversation. We are all interesting people with many different likes and interests, but until we overcome that initial awkward meeting barrier, people might not know that about us. So, instead of waiting for a spark to come up in conversation, wear your heart on your sleeve! Well… your band on your shirt that is!

Dressing up your favorite band tees with skirts and choice jewelry is a great way to be both fashionable and eye-catching this spring season.

Here, a girl models a “Guns and Roses” distressed t-shirt from Urban Outfitters and a thrifted fringe skirt.

There are many ways to get your hands on band shirts: from the store, thrift shops, or, my favorite, from the band’s concert itself! Some stores that are popular spots to buy band shirts are Urban Outfitters, Hot Topic, and also at many beach stores such as Ron Jon Surf Shop.

Feeling punk? Match your favorite band tee with opaque tights and a chunky belt!

Featuring an Old Glory “Rolling Stones” tee, Forever 21 skirt, tights, and a chunky belt.

The good thing about band shirts is that they are a form of self-identification. The great thing about band shirts is that they go with basically everything! If you are at a total loss for how to pair your favorite band shirt with a cute skirt, you can always turn our friendly neighborhood Tumblr. Simply search “band tee” and literally hundreds of results will pop up. Here are a few examples.

So never go through awkward meet-and-greets ever again! Simply wear your favorite band tee in its most fashionable glory and just wait until other band groupies come to talk about it. If you are anything like me, I can talk about music for ages, whether it be rock, pop, electric, or country.
