This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

Traveling as a woman can be daunting, especially when you not only have to worry about the day-to-day concerns that come with traveling, but also your safety and dangerous situations. Traveling in a foreign country or city that you’ve never traveled to before can be scary, especially if you’re unfamiliar with the language, culture, and customs. Before traveling to a new destination, it’s important to research many factors such as transportation, any conflicts occurring in the country, learn a couple of useful phrases in the native language and more. This will help you feel confident exploring your new destination and give you some peace of mind. While all countries may not be safe for women to freely travel and explore, these five countries listed have been ranked as some of the top locations in the Global Peace Index, making them perfect destinations for female travelers.
