This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

Traveling as a woman can be daunting, especially when you not only have to worry about the day-to-day concerns that come with traveling, but also your safety and dangerous situations. Traveling in a foreign country or city that you’ve never traveled to before can be scary, especially if you’re unfamiliar with the language, culture, and customs. Before traveling to a new destination, it’s important to research many factors such as transportation, any conflicts occurring in the country, learn a couple of useful phrases in the native language and more. This will help you feel confident exploring your new destination and give you some peace of mind.
