Must-Have Staples for “In-Between Weather”

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

It’s that time of the year again: the awkward in-between weather. We just stepped out of summer and flew into fall, and the weather is as flaky as the guy we’ve been texting for over a week now (pro-tip: move on!). Cold mornings, blazing hot afternoons and chilly nights make it almost impossible to get dressed for school in the morning, but here are some basic pieces that can make the transition much smoother. Wear them now and save them for winter!

1. Scarf

This one is a no-brainer. You can wear one wrapped around your neck for cool mornings and nights, or you can take it off and throw it in your bag in the midday heat! Plus, it doubles as winter wear.

2. Blazer

A cute blazer adds structure to fun dresses for hot-weather looks, and it can be paired with jeans and cute riding boots when the weather gets chillier down the line.

3. Lace Dress

In the heat, a lace dress is breathable and light enough to create a cute and polished look with sandals or flats. For cooler weather, pair it with a tights or a blazer to keep you cozy.

4. Leather Jacket

Every girl needs a leather jacket in her closet nowadays. It’s the ultimate bad girl staple that can keep you warm while looking cool.

5. Leather Tote

A leather tote in a neutral color can work with both sandals and boots! It’s the ultimate carry-all for a Collegiette on campus.
