Name: Julia Mudd

Age: 20

Year: Junior

Hometown: Dunkirk, MD

Major: Double Major in Environmental Studies and Geography

Relationship Status: In a long-distance relationship

Her Campus (HC): What does it mean to you to be President of Alpha Gamma Delta?

Julia Mudd (JM): To me, it means that I can truly accomplish whatever I am determined to do. It also means the world to me that my sisters believe I am capable of this job and trust me enough to do it right.

HC: What is the greatest achievement you have accomplished as President of Alpha Gamma Delta?

JM: Though I have only been President for a couple of months now, I feel my greatest accomplishment was, and still is, increasing the positivity and communication of the chapter. It is important to have these two factors for a sorority to run smoothly.

HC: What has been your biggest setback as President?

JM: There has been no actual setback, but having to keep track of almost 200 women can be overwhelming.

HC: What would you say you benefit the most from in your sorority experience?

JM: I benefit most from the member development programs we have within our sorority. These programs are meant to better who we are now and form us into true educated women. They are also meant to prepare us for the future.

HC: What are three words that your sisters or friends would use to describe you?

JM: Determined, caring and, intelligent.

HC: If you could go to dinner with anyone, who would it be and why?

JM: This is definitely the hardest question to answer. Even though he is deceased, I would want to have dinner with William Shakespeare. This is because he was a very poetic man who wrote fantastic stories. I would want to pick his brain and see where all of these wonderful ideas came from. He was known for something so beautiful.

HC: If Hollywood were to make a film about you, which actress would you pick to play yourself?

JM: I would pick Emma Stone because she is hilarious and I love her!

HC: What have you learned about yourself through your experience with Greek life?

JM: I have learned so much throughout this whole experience. It has shown me how to be a better woman and has shown me skills that I will use today and later on in life. Our main motto in Alpha Gamma Delta is “Inspire the woman, impact the world.” With this motto I have found that true not only in my own sorority, but also in all of Greek Life. We are all simply trying to be a better version of ourselves.

HC: What advice would you give to someone looking to be involved with a sorority at Florida State?

JM: I would tell that woman to get ready for the time of her life and try to be nobody but herself. Being true to you is the first step to a successful life.
