Campus Ambassador Programs You Should Apply for This Summer

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

As the spring semester comes to an end and we start to transition into summer, we’re all thinking about what we’re going to do next. Maybe an internship, a summer job, or applying for these things for the fall. One thing that has become increasingly popular since the rise of influencers is campus ambassador programs. As a college student who doesn’t have the budget to go shopping every week, getting a box of new clothes or a new product every month feels like Christmas. Many ambassador programs are opening up their applications this summer, and I’ve compiled a list of a few of my favorites so you don’t miss out on the chance. Not only will you get some swag, but you’ll also be able to up your social media game and have a great resume builder. If you want to go into the media, specifically the social media field, these are especially great opportunities to show what you’re made of to potential employers.

Prime Student

Prime Student is an ambassador program with Amazon Prime. If you love Amazon, this is one of the top ambassador programs for students. Not only do you get to gain a ton of experience in influencer and social media marketing, but you also get a yearlong Prime Student Membership, a $150 weekly stipend, and a swag box! You’ll have to be dedicated and active on social media because you’ll be required to post twice a week and engage with your followers. This position is 100 percent remote and can be done if you’re living on or even off campus. If you’re thinking about applying for the upcoming year or just want to learn more about it, click here.

Pretty Little Thing

Pretty Little Thing (PLT) is a large fashion brand that many of you probably already know. They take a group of campus ambassadors every year and only require very simple deliverables. Starting out, they give you $100 to spend on their site, and once you receive those items, they want you to post to your personal Instagram a few times a month. Sounds easy, right? Most of us are already posting that often on Instagram, if not more. Just post two feed pictures as well as two story posts featuring one of their items of clothing, tag them, use their exclusive hashtag, and you’re set! Each month following you will receive $150 in gift card form to buy new clothes with. I personally am a part of #classofplt, and it is so much fun. I love getting a new package of clothing every month. Their applications open for the 2023-2024 school year in June and can be found on their website! #classofplt

Influenster

Influenster isn’t exactly a campus ambassador program, but is a great program nonetheless. You leave reviews on products you like or even dislike, and that helps you gain credibility on the site. Each month you have the opportunity to apply for a “voxbox.” These are small PR boxes that contain the product/s that you were chosen to receive for that month. These can include anything from household items, food items, makeup, hair products, and more. The “voxbox” application will include questions pertaining to the available items for that month such as what foundation will match you best, or if you have any allergies. While you can do this one whether you’re in school or not, it’s fun because it’s a bit of a surprise every time you’re chosen to receive a box. To sign up for Influenster, go to their website or download the app.

Victoria’s Secret PINK

Victoria’s Secret PINK’s applications are unfortunately already closed for this upcoming school year, but I thought they deserved an honorable mention. This program is probably the most competitive because they only take two per school every year. They have an extensive application process in which you will go through 3 rounds, including an interview. You get to hold PINK events on campus and work closely with your local store. You also have the opportunity and privilege to work with a philanthropic partner that you will promote and help raise money for. You’ll also work with your supervisor to create a real relationship with the brand. Another added bonus is you get a ton of merchandise to promote and style. While these applications are closed for the upcoming school year, if you’re currently a freshman or sophomore, I recommend watching closely for them to open back up next spring.

Campus ambassador programs are so exciting and fun to participate in. I have loved doing mine and getting to work closely with these brands. Campus ambassador programs are definitely something to look into if you’re looking to have a career in social media, marketing, personal relations, journalism, or anything to do with media! Even if you don’t want a career in media but want to expand your own social media presence, it’s definitely something that’s fun and can spice up your year.
