The Do’s & Don’ts of Throwing a Super Bowl Party

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fordham chapter.

With Super Bowl LIII: Patriots v Rams right around the corner, you might be asking yourself how to throw a successful party while everyone is glued to the TV. Here are some helpful do’s & don’ts:

DO: Provide your guests with endless finger foods

Pick-ons, snacks, finger foods, appetizers…whatever you call ’em – they are a MUST for any great Super Bowl party. Need ideas? Try: chips & dip, chicken wings, miniature sandwiches, pigs in a blanket, etc. And if you really want to get creative, check out this masterpiece:

DON’T: Prepare a sit-down meal

No one is looking to sit down at a large dining room table & have a 3-course meal while the game is on. All your guests need is some yummy snacks & a beer or two (or six)!

DO: Decorate & create fun games

Show off your crafty side! Decorate your space with fun football-themed flags & posters. Maybe even come up with some team games you & your friends can play during halftime!

DON’T: Take bets too seriously

While box pools & spit handshake bets on the game are fun & all, don’t take them too seriously. Some of your guests may claim they were “only joking” after their team takes a loss – be careful not to lose out on more money than you need to!

DO: Your research

Watching the Super Bowl is much more interesting & exciting when you actually understand what is going on. Read up a little on each team playing & you’re bound to have a great time watching.

DON’T: Touch the remote

This one is very, very important. Whatever you do, just DO NOT touch the remote!!!

These few do’s & don’ts are bound to help you throw a win of a Super Bowl party! Start prepping!
