4 TikTok Recipes Every College Student Needs To Make

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fordham chapter.

Upgrading from a school meal plan to a dorm or apartment with a kitchen is a big deal. Instead of relying on the same dining options campus has to offer, you have the chance to put your cooking skills to the test. However, knowing what to cook and when to cook it is tricky.

Since college students are known for being insanely busy, planning out recipes will take some time to get used to. What is a good resource for recipes? TikTok.

TikTok is not only an excellent platform for comedy and dance videos, but some great food creators share easy and delicious recipes, a lot geared towards college students.

Here are 4 TikTok recipes every college student needs to make:

High Protein Buffalo Chicken Quesadilla

Creator: _jamiewolf

Everyone knows the addition of protein into your diet is extremely important. This high-protein buffalo chicken quesadilla is not only easy to make but healthy and tasty.

What You Need:

  • Carb Balance tortillas
  • Shredded cheese of your choice
  • Buffalo sauce
  • Ranch seasoning (powder)
  • Greek yogurt
  • Canned chicken (or rotisserie chicken)

Instructions:

Step 1: Put your canned chicken in a bowl and shred it. If you do not have or want to use canned chicken, shredded rotisserie chicken works just fine.

Step 2: Add 2 tablespoons of greek yogurt to the bowl along with the ranch seasoning powder and your desired amount of buffalo sauce. Mix until all ingredients are combined.

Step 3: Put the chicken in the microwave for one minute.

Step 4: Spray a pan with non-stick spray and add your tortilla. Spread an even layer of the chicken on the tortilla. Add shredded cheese on top once the desired amount of chicken is added.

Step 5: Top with another tortilla and spray. Flip the tortilla over after a few minutes to ensure each side is toasted.

Step 6: Cut into the tortilla pizza-style and enjoy!

Step 3: Add parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, a little bit of lemon juice, parsley and oil to a separate bowl. Mix together.

Step 4: Dip each piece of salmon into the egg mixture, covering both sides, and then roll into the breadcrumb mixture.

Toasted Ravioli with Vodka Sauce

Creator: everything_delish

Did you know you can toast ravioli and eat them with your hands? This delicious snack recipe is for my avid air fryer users.

What You Need:

  • Bag of ravioli
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • Vodka sauce of your choice

Instructions:

Step 1: Choose your favorite ravioli brand and cook them in a pot of boiling water. Once finished, strain and set them aside in a bowl. Don’t cook for too long, so they have an al dente texture.

Step 2: Whisk 3 eggs into a bowl. Pour flour into another bowl.

Step 3: Add breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, parsley, salt and pepper into another bowl and mix. You should now have 3 separate bowls of ingredients.

Step 4: One by one, cover the cooked ravioli first in the flour, then in the egg mixture, then in the breadcrumbs. Set them aside until each ravioli is covered. Add additional parmesan cheese to the top of the ravioli.

Step 5: Add the ravioli in a single layer to the air fryer and bake at 350 for 10 minutes.

Step 6: Heat the vodka sauce of your choice in a pan. If you have time and want to take a crack at your own vodka sauce, go for it! @everything_delish has a great vodka recipe you can try.

Step 7: Serve the vodka sauce on the side of your ravioli and enjoy the crunchy snack!
