You Need to Try “Dos Croquetas”

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FIU chapter.

If you live in Miami and love the croqueta culture just as much as everyone else, girl do I have a place for you.

Dos Croquetas is Miami’s first artisanal croqueta bar. This restaurant is located less than ten minutes away from Florida International University’s main campus. According to the Dos Croquetas website, “each and every one of our croquetas is hand-crafted from scratch by our in-house Chefs using only the freshest and highest quality ingredients.”

If you visit Dos Croquetas, you already know what you have to order. They have six – yes, six! – specialty croquetas available to try: classic ham, Buffalo Crack Chicken, Cheddar Burger, Mexican Street Corn, Mac + Cheese + Bacon, and of course, the 305. Each croqueta comes with their own dipping sauce, as well.

You can order these delicious croquetas individually (they range in price from $2 to $2.25), or you can order a croqueta flight (yes, you read correctly) where you can pick the flavors you want to try them all.

When I most recently went, I tried their Croqueta Bowl. It is a bowl with white rice, black beans, platanito chips, and 2 croquetas of your choosing. You can also add additional toppings (I went for house-made pico de gallo).

If gourmet croquetas are not for you, Dos Croquetas also has prepárate menu and a pa’ picar menu. There is also a dessert menu with specialty milkshakes, floats, a toston ice cream sandwich, and dessert croquetas. The dessert croquetas can come in either Fruity Pebbles, Oreo, or Guava Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

Dos Croquetas is an amazing place to stop by if you want to get something local, good quality, and filling. The ambiance of the place is great- there’s music playing throughout the restaurant, neon lights and cute wallpaper to post on your Instagram story (because we all know that really matters), and there are happy customers eating their croqueta flight with joy. They also deliver on Postmates if you cannot physically go (even though I highly recommend that you do).

If you’ve never been to Dos Croquetas, you have to go. It is the perfect restaurant for Miami-Dade, and being so close to FIU, there’s no excuse to not go now!
