Hello Fall: Season Appropriate and Socially Responsible Activities

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FIU chapter.

Fall is finally here! Hello, pumpkin spice lattes. Hello, Hocus Pocus and Halloween Town marathons. Hello, finally being able to wear jeans without sweating our butts off; all these being some of the things that make fall one of my favorite seasons by far.

While coronavirus lockdowns are lifting in many states, many of our traditional hangouts are still off-limits- we’re still in a global pandemic after all. The good news is that you can still have some fun while practicing social-distancing. How? I’ve compiled a list of four suggestions to help you stay entertained while still enjoying those fall-like vibes.

Host a Bob Ross Virtual Painting Party

Gather a couple of friends, schedule a party start time via Zoom or Google Hangouts, put on your favorite Bob Ross tutorial and paint away!

Go On a Picnic

The perfect balance between being socially responsible and season appropriate. Pack some crackers or a baguette from your local bakery, your favorite deli meats, and your favorite snacks. Don’t forget your blanket!

Movie Night

Thanks to the Netflix Party extension, hosting a movie night with your friends has never been easier. Choose your favorite movie, heat up some hot chocolate and enjoy the show.

Virtual Book Club

There’s something about fall that just screams academia vibes. What better way to embrace it than starting a book club with your closest friends?
