Five Spring 2015 Trends to Watch Out For

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FIU chapter.
  1. Shirtdresses: Designers have reimagined this classic look into a style that’s anything but ordinary. From dropped waists to double high slits, there’s nothing that can’t be done with this look! Even a cute peter pan collar is workable with oxford-style flats and some rockin’ accessories.
  2. Yellow: Canary, amber, saffron, marigold… there’s a shade for everyone! And what better season for a color like yellow but spring? Choose your shade and don’t be afraid to venture into the world with a color you don’t typically use, you never know what might happen.
  3. Gingham: While fall brought us plaid, spring has brought us it’s cousin… gingham. Don’t be afraid to use this pattern for fear of being called tablecloth! If someone can’t properly appreciate the beauty of it, then why are they even in your life?
  4. All-White: At this point of the year, it isn’t about the rules of when you can wear all-white; it’s about how you wear it. New tricks include mixing textures, layering multiple pieces and mixing various shades like ivory and stark white.
  5. One Shoulder: Show one of the sexiest parts of your body off in one-shoulder tops and dresses that are perfect for date night. Who needs those off the shoulders styles so reminiscent on spring 2014, when you can tease with a little look?
