Vintage Glam is a variety of things but one of the best known is the return of the Roaring Twenties, a period known for its unmatched sophistication, shine, and beauty. As for women in the 1920s, there was a sense of independence and freedom they explored with overall fashion. The dramatic flapper attire and the numerous designs being created were just the beginning of a collectionthat would change fashion as we know it. Now let’s explore the timeless beauty of 1920s fashion and see how it has made a stunning reappearance in today’s society.

Women all around the world began to depart from the conventional and conservative fashions of earlier decades, which led to less corsets and cutting off their long hair to give rise to the flapper. Young, contemporary women known as flappers welcomed a newfound feeling of freedom following the end of World War I and the outbreak of the Great Depression. They stood for independence and defiance of power. With lower hemlines, broader shapes, and an overall distaste for the constricting girdles and gowns that had characterized women’s fashion for decades, they were starting to see change.

The glitz, beads, sparkles, and nightlife look were born and becoming present-day vintage. Over the decades, the appeal of clothing had not diminished but rather increased in attractiveness. Designers and fashion icons began combining concepts from the 20s into modern day fashion which to no surprise became very popular. From slip dresses to braless fashion, more and more styles change in unexpected ways. Many appearances have been made in numerous events including the Met Gala, runway shows, and movie premiers.

Without the cherished slip dress, where would we be today? Its resemblance to a petticoat or underslip has made this look extremely iconic. Despite having the appearance of garments, the slip dress was meant to be noticed, thanks to its use of lace and transparent materials, to reveal a portion of the body. These dresses are now making a reappearance, sometimes worn beneath a thick cardigan or layered over a t-shirt for a more modern appearance. It gives off an air of ethereality, femininity, and delicacy that makes you feel effortlessly stylish.

We enjoy seeing the fashion of the 1920s reflected in our present-day attire, especially given how much of it is still in Vogue today. This attire offers endless possibilities for creating a distinctive and stylish ensemble.
