Don’t Let Time Pass You

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FIU chapter.

I know as college days turn into years, we stop midway and are like “whoa, where did the time go?!” We look back and wonder where the actual time has gone. Then we question ourselves with questions such as: Did I get as involved as I wanted to? Did I get my full college experience? Did I make the most of my collegiate years? And it gets us overthinking and wanting to possibly go back and change a few things. My advice?

Start NOW in making those college involvements happen. This could mean stepping out of your comfort zone and joining a club or organization you never thought you would. This could mean loving a philanthropy event you see on campus so much, you decide you want to be a part of it and watch it unfold so many opportunities in your life. These steps of faith into involvement in college lead to big things!

Start NOW with planning your yearly-goals and what you want to accomplish by a certain date. Whether this means something personal or fun. Life is all about challenging ourselves and becoming a better version of ourselves. Make sure you don’t lose track of time due to the daily business of life that you never meet these goals that could shape your college experience and help you grow.

I’m here to tell you to START NOW. Don’t say “Oh, maybe tomorrow.” No, NOW! Because tomorrow soon turns into next week, then next year and before you know it it’s too late. Find those involvements, passions and events you want to be a part of and give them a chance. You never know, some of the greatest leaders I’ve met came from organizations that built them and offered them so much, that without it, they wouldn’t be at such a great place in their life if it wasn’t for that.

Take advantage and use your time wisely in college! These four years are YOURS.

Xoxo,

Bri
