Campus Cutie: Anita Tomic

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FIU chapter.

Age: 20

Major/Minor: Criminal Justice

Year: Junior

1) What are your involvements on campus?

My current involvements are being a second year resident assistant in Lakeview North, and a member of Alpha Omicron Pi. My previous involvements are being philanthropy chair of AOII, Relay for Life Intern, and Volunteer Chair of Wishmakers on campus.

2) What led you to choose your major?

I am a criminal justice major because I am an aspiring lawyer. I want to be the voice of those who need help and need to be heard and an advocate to help bring justice to the lives that may need it.

3)  What was your responsibility as philanthropy chair of your sorority?

As philanthropy chair of Alpha Omicron Pi I planned two main events AOII goes blue for arthritis  and an event for our local philanthropy- sisters angels where we had an AOII bootcamp last spring in 2013.

4) What are your plans after graduation?

After graduation I hope to go to law school here at FIU and then hopefully become a lawyer.

5) Any advice for people who want to become involved on campus?

If I could give anyone advice who wants to get involved on campus it would be to be the change you wish to see in the world. If you want to make a change in our community it starts with you and I promise it will be so rewarding in the end when you get to see the legacy you leave behind. Getting involved at FIU was the best decision I ever made and I can definitely thank Greek life and my sisters for encouraging me to do so.
