History was recently made for the luxury fashion brand Dior when they announced pop princess Rihanna is the star of their new Secret Garden campaign. Rihanna is now the first black woman to front a campaign for Dior.

This is Dior’s fourth installment of the Secret Garden campaign, which showcases models walking through the Palace of Versailles and its elegant gardens.

Rihanna told MTV in an interview, “It feels fantastic, it’s such a big deal for me, for my culture, for a lot of young girls of any color, to be acknowledge by Dior.”

This announcement is monumental; not only in the fashion industry, but also for society in general, proving our world is continuing to move towards an equal representation of every race.

Rihanna is a role model for many young girls, and now she is reaching a whole new audience and making the ultimate fashion statement.

Congrats RiRi we are all so proud, keep making history!
