How to Go a Week Without Using Makeup and Still Look Good

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

Let’s be real collegiettes, makeup is an ~essential~ in our daily routines. It enhances our already beautiful features and provides us with a confident glow. But depending on the extent of your makeup routine, it can be very time consuming. Wearing no makeup would make our lives so much easier and keep our skin so much healthier!

Here’s how to go a whole week without wearing makeup and still look amazing!

1.) Exfoliate

Exfoliation is your best friend! By making it a vital part of your skincare regimen, you are guaranteed more radiant skin. Shedding away dead skin cells will allow fresh and healthy ones to emerge. It will also most certainly help in the reduction of that one skin problem that keeps coming back to haunt us… ~acne~. Exfoliate a maximum of 2 times per week for noticeably fresher, smoother, and clearer looking skin. This way you won’t even have to hide under any makeup!

2.) Hydrate

Drinking lots of water is so crucial for maintaining a gorgeous, makeup free complexion. Aim to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day to flush out all of the toxins in your body. Water prevents your face from having to deal with the effects of toxins and will keep your skin super hydrated.

3.) Sleep on a Silk Pillowcase

If you’ve ever wanted skin smoother than a baby’s bottom, sleeping on a silk pillowcase is a must! Silk pillowcases provide so many beauty benefits. The silk retains moisture, which smooths skin and prevents breakage of hair. With this trick, you won’t have to smooth out your skin with foundation or concealer anymore!

4.) Take a Multivitamin Daily

We all try to maintain healthy diets, but we still happen to miss out on a whole lot of nutrients. Adding a multivitamin to your diet will enhance healthy benefits for your body internally and externally. Popular supplements that are valuable for women’s health are Vitamin A, B12, D, Iron, and probiotics. When you feel good on the inside, you will be radiant on the outside. Adding this supplement to your daily routine will help you get that ~natural glow~.

5.) Wear Well-Fitting Clothes

Channel your inner fashionista and have fun with your outfits. Try to choose pieces that complement your natural features and flatter your figure. A cute, trendy outfit will have you feeling like you can conquer the world. With the right outfit, no one will even notice the lack of makeup! Remember, positive vibes only!

Embrace your natural beauty and know that you are beautiful inside and out. After all, we think you’re pretty stellar!
