As the semester comes to a close in Florence, so does the warm air and beaming hot sun. The weather is now cold and the city in roaring Christmas spirit, here are some pictures of decorations around the beautiful city of Florence!
The Christmas tree during the day, in the Piazza del Duomo.
Almost all of the streets in Florence are decorated with beaming lights or Christmas balls to celebrate the holiday. They’re quite gorgeous, and they really makes me miss home!
This is the Santa Croce Christmas Market, filled with delicious foods from around the world and a variety of Christmas gift vendors!
My choice of treat was the cheesy German pretzel, YUMMMMMM!
This building might be my favorite part of the Florence Christmas decorations, aside from the tree of course. Located in the prime shopping area of the Piazza della Republica, I find myself walking past it as often as I can.
This was taken at the Christmas tree lighting on December 8th. It’s definitely one of the most beautiful experiences of my life, and so many people gathered to watch!
Lastly, I had to try the world-famous Florentine hot chocolate from Caffe Rivoire. I saw this caffe listed on Buzzfeed’s top hot chocolate places in the world so obviously, I had to give it a go…and it was worth it. Melted pure chocolate couldn’t be any better!
