5 Ways to Wear a Blanket Scarf

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

There are few better ways to accomplish both trendiness and warmth than adding a blanket scarf to your wardrobe! Obviously, the word blanket screams comfort, so to make such a warm and comfortable accessory a fashion statement is ~pure genius~.  Here are 5 easy ways to wear a blanket scarf, making you one of the most fashionable collegiettes on campus.

1. Poncho

This is probably the easiest way to rock the blanket scarf as it requires no tying or looping.  Simply fold the scarf in rectangular halves and drape over your shoulders. Tuck it in and the look is complete! Yes, it’s that easy.

2. Cardigan

This is another effortless method. Instead of folding the scarf into rectangular halves, fold the scarf into triangular halves and throw it around your shoulders. All done!

3. Classic Loop

First, fold the scarf in half, then place it behind your neck and leave one side longer than the other. Then bring the longer side around your neck and back to the front, and slip it through the loop! Simple, but effective.

4. Handkerchief

This style requires a bit more labor but is totally worth it, as your ordinary scarf simply cannot achieve this look. First, fold the scarf into a triangle and grab the two ends. Then, cross the two ends around your neck and bring it back to the front. Finish the look off by tucking the two ends into the rest of the scarf.

5. Coat

The blanket scarf is so oversized that it can even function as the perfect coat! You can achieve this by opting for the poncho or cardigan style and pairing it with a belt so the scarf stays in place. Comfort and cuteness at its finest.

Friends, sun, sand, and sea is all this chick needs.
