12 Things That Should Be On Every Fairfield Freshman’s Bucket List

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

As a freshman, you are constantly trying to figure out what to do will all of this newfound free time. Here are 12 things every Fairfield freshman needs to do before the school year comes to a close. 1. Go to the beach for a Point Day Soak up the last little bit of the warm weather and get some ~fabulous~ Instas on the beach

2. Go to Pres Ball This is a great time with your friends and your first real experience spending a night with your entire class. Everyone gets all dressed up and snaps their pics with Father Von Arx and Father Doody.

3. Go to Midnight Breakfast There is no other experience like standing on tables at Barone singing “All I Want for Christmas is You” at the top of your lungs, decked out in holiday gear and being served breakfast by your professors. It definitely gets you in the holiday spirit while you’re stressing out about finals.

4. Wander around the townhouses aimlessly As a freshman it is pretty unlikely that you know someone who owns a townhouse. You may get into a few places but will mostly likely get busted by DPS or get boring. Either way, at some point you’ll decide to call it a night and end up ordering dominos with your friends.

5. Take a trip to the city With Fairfield just a train ride away from NYC so you have go at least once before the end of Freshman year. Whether it be to see a Broadway show, a baseball game with the school, or dinner, exploring the city with your friends it’s a great way to spend part of your weekend.

P.S. Would highly recommend heading in during Christmas time to see the tree!

6. Go into town for dinner Everyone gets sick of Barone pretty quickly, luckily the StagBus makes a stop in town where there are plenty of places to go for dinner. Some of the best are Colony Grill, Pronto, Freshii, Centro, Firehouse Deli, Old Post Tavern, Plan B and Flipside.

7. Go to a lacrosse game Lacrosse is by far Fairfield’s biggest sport so get ready to check out brand new Rafferty and cheer on your fellow stags.

8. Shopping in Westport Westport has every store you can imagine from Vineyard Vines to Brandy Melville to Lululemon. It also doesn’t hurt to get some great Mexican food at Bartaco right across the water and snap some pics.

9. Stay in your dorm during a snowstorm Being snowed in with the people in your building is a bonding experience like no other. You’ll make hot chocolate and play games and become so much closer with the people on your floor and in your building.

10. Go to the beach for an actual beach day As much fun as it is to go to the beach for Point day, you don’t get to truly enjoy the beach. Take the time to go to the beach for real get a little tan, hangout with your friends and maybe (but not very likely) get some studying done.

11. Stay in for a girls night As much fun as the townhouses and going out is sometimes you just need a girls night. So pop some popcorn, put on some sweats and throw on the rom-coms. You won’t miss much by staying in one night.

12. Ride the Stag It’s the most cliché of all but it’s a rite of passage.
