Preppy Pastel Nails Tutorial!

Spring is officially here, and that only means one thing- spring fashion! Get in the mood with some adorable preppy nail art! Here’s the tutorial!

Step 1: Start with clean, filed nails. Remove any extra polish with polish remover

Step 2: Pick your 5 favorite spring pastel colors.

In this tutorial, I use the following colors (from left to right):

  1. Plenair- Banana Republic
  2. Turquoise and Caicos- Essie
  3. Borrowed and Blue- Essie
  4. Fiji- Essie
  5. Cotton Candy- Orly

Step 3:  Paint each finger a different color. Do two coats of each color and let it dry.

Step 4: Details! Once dry, grab your detailer pen and draw cute preppy designs! For mine, I drew patterns like seersucker, zigzags, and dots. I did them with the “I heart nail art” white striper pen by Sally Hanson, and a dotting tool. [Note: if you do not own a dotting tool, you can use either the head of a pin, or a bobby pin]. I also added some glitter for some accent nail fun with Sephora by OPI’s Only Gold for me Top Coat

Step 5. Add a topcoat so your pretty new mani stays, and tada, you’re done! Enjoy your pretty pastel nails!   Match your nails with a cute preppy button down,  and some bright lips for an instant boost of spring time.
