This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Exeter chapter.

Meet campus celebrity Bethan Jones – Her Campus talks to Bethan about uni life and running for Vice-President Education in the upcoming SABB elections.

Name: Bethan Jones

Year: 3rd

Campus Celeb Status: Running for Vice-President Education

What’s your favourite thing about Exeter?

Probably the experiences and opportunities that you get here, I have tried so many things I never thought I would do and met some amazing people doing them!

Apart from running a campaign, what do you spend your time doing?

Music mostly, I am in a few singing groups on Campus (shout out to the Sweet Nothings). I have also been involved in musical theatre, from Rapunzel to a drugged up lesbian. I have also more recently joined Xpression FM which has been something a bit different.

If you could go back in time to your first year, what would you say to your eighteen-year-old self?

Do more Maths. I don’t have any regrets really, I had such an amazing time trying to do everything I possibly could!

Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know…

In first year I was in the first team for Korfball …

Why did you decide to run for SABB and why Vice-President Education in particular?

I genuinely really care about the education at Exeter. I had some struggles in my degree and I am one of the people that needed help and I want to make sure there is sufficient support for those people. I have loved being a student at the University of Exeter and I want to make sure everyone gets the most out of their education.

What attributes do you have that make you a promising candidate?

I am very committed and determined, having been in various committees for other activities at university. I am passionate and I also really care about the University and its students and think I am quite understanding with those that have issues.

Can you briefly sum up your manifesto?

BEE provided with the best resources, BEE supported, BEE recognised for going above and beyond your degree, and BEE involved in research.

Describe your campaign in three words…

Buzzing for change.
