Whether you are from the eclectic streets of Camden or the rural villages of Norfolk, I think we can agree very few of us were prepared for quite how casual Exeter’s nightlife style is. Bodycon dresses and stilettos just don’t quite fit the TP style and will leave you hobbling across the cobbled streets. As Exeter students we have become fully used to the idea that our wardrobes consist of lycra leggings and a jumper for the day and a pair of oh-so-inviting jogging bottoms for the evening. It is therefore unerstandable that the idea of dressing up for a night out is slightly taxing. Here at HCX our black jeans and a crop top have been our clubbing staples for the past few weeks, but I think it is safe to say that we have all hit the fourth week slump. We understand that having gone through your wardrobe once, or maybe twice, the new clothes that you bought for University now seem like they have been in your collection for at least three years.

So in order to save the day (or the weekend!) we have come up with some ways for you to spruce up your clubbing wardrobe, and in such a way that you might ditch those joggies forever!

Printed Trousers

Printed trousers are perfect; fun, fashionable and they keep you warm at 3 o’clock in the morning. Pair them with a cute crop top or silky strappy top and you are good to go!

Patterned Shorts

If you are still holding on to that golden glow from summer try some smarter shorts or a patterned skirt. They look cool and are pretty low maintance.
