Meet the bubbly, fun loving and all-round Good Samaritan Lizzie Simpson!

In between studying English Literature, surfing and dancing ballet, Lizzie is deeply involved with humanitarian social work in and out of campus. We catch up to find out more about this Cutie!

How did you begin to get involved in social related work?

During first year my friends set up the Just Love community – a society which tackles issues surrounding social injustice on a personal, local and global level. It’s a relatively unknown fact that there are more slaves today than there have ever been in the history of humanity.

Are you part of any other groups regarding social inequality?

I volunteer with a local Exeter charity, Restore, which aims to rehabilitate survivors of human trafficking. I’m also working for Frontline, an organization which aims to recruit and train individuals for a leadership development programme in children’s social work.

How is the voluntary work you’re doing worthwhile?

The first step is simply getting involved – I’m helping at a very local level, but this really makes a difference to the individual lives of the people I’m working with.

Do you have any tips for Her Campus readers on managing their time as well you?

Studying is a case of little at a time, but very often!
