So, you’re our campus celebrity because you managed to bag yourself an interview with Louis Walsh…How did you get the chance to do this?

I got the chance through The Tab, they asked for someone to cover the homecoming and I said yes, not realising it meant an interview!

When did you find out you were going to interview him?

I found out the day before, with the belief I would have a space in the press box on the red carpet. However I discovered that I had 3 minutes to interview them in person.

Were there any stressful moments during the process?

The most stressful being that the time changed and I checked my email 10 minutes before I was supposed to be there, so I ran up cardiac… Yes ran! I got some very strange looks. I arrived to be told he had been moved due to security, so again I had to run to the next place.

What was he like in person?

I felt so nervous before the interview, however he was so normal and the nerves instantly vanished. They were both very open and friendly. It was still so strange coming to terms with the fact of how famous he was and that I was interviewing him… Me of all people.

Is this something you’d like to do again in the future?

It was such a surreal experience, I would love to do it again if I were to get the chance.

Has the experience had any impact on your career goals in any way?

If anything it has driven me to go into journalism. But at the same made me question what area I want to go into.
