“Distance makes the heart grow fonder”

My friend shared this quote with me right before my boyfriend and I went to different colleges. Sometimes I can’t help myself but want to eat an entire pint of ice cream while I cry and watch romance movies alone in my bed….hey we’ve all been there, right? Well, here are some things that have worked for me and some of my friends in keeping Valentine’s Day special even when we have to face long distance from our significant others.

Send a care package

I recently sent my boyfriend a Valentine’s Day care package with lots of love inside. Decorating the box was actually quite therapeutic and made it look cute too!

Order your long distance lover an edible arrangement

My friend just picked up an edible arrangement her boyfriend had ordered for her and sent to our school! The chocolate covered strawberries looked delicious!

Send a love letter

Lets face it, a college student budget can be tight…show your love by sending a love letter written from your heart! It’s basically free and it shows that you are still thinking of them from X miles away.

Facetime or video chat

If you do not have access to send anything, have a facetime date! Spend the day virtually together if that is the closest thing you have!

Plan a date

If you know the day that you and your significant other will see each other again, plan a late date night you two can look forward to!
