Eight Ways to Wear a Scarf

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Emory chapter.

Scarves have become a staple in almost every Collegiette’s™ wardrobe. Whether you wear a scarf to add some spice to your plain cotton shirt or to help keep your neck warm during the winter days, they are perfect for adding that little extra bit of flavour to your wardrobe. Check out these eight different ways to wear a scarf.

The No-Tie Tie
This is the simplest way to wear a scarf. All you have to do is drape it around your neck. It can’t get much easier than that.

The Simple Knot-Tie
Another easy on the go way to tie a scarf. Just drape the scarf around your neck and tie it in a basic knot.

Button Hole Tie
There are three easy steps to follow: First, fold the scarf in half. Second, drape the scarf around your neck with the loop side of the scarf on one shoulder and the two tails of the scarf on the other. Third, thread the tails through the loop and pull.

The Infinity
First, tie the two ends of the scarf together in a small knot. Then, wrap the scarf around your neck twice.

The single loop
Just as easy as the name sounds. All you have to do is wrap the scarf around your neck once.

The fake knot
Follow these five quick and easy steps. First, drape the scarf around your neck so that it falls equally on each side. Second, make a knot on one side of the scarf. Third, bring the unknotted side towards the side with the knot. Fourth, bring the unknotted side through the knotted side to form one single knot. Fifth, tighten the knot.

Tie around
Wrap the scarf around your neck as many times as you can, and then tuck the tails in, giving the scarf a circular form.

Wrap
Instead of wearing the scarf around your neck, try going for something new. Place an oversized scarf around your shoulders, giving you a sophisticated look.
