Coffee, Coffee, Coffee

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Emory chapter.

There’s no way to hide from it anymore – finals are less than a month away and if you’re anything like me, that only means one thing: lots (and I mean LOTS) of coffee. It keeps me awake, gets me in study mode and tastes delicious. If you’re the same way, but are stuck in a plain-Jane Starbucks Skinny Vanilla Latte rut, Atlanta has so much more to offer. When the library is packed and your go-to spot on the fifth floor of the stacks has been taken by someone literally camped there for an entire week (or if you are that person that likes to leave all your stuff behind while you go on a three-hour coffee run), these local places offer a great new study spot and, of course, plenty of the good stuff. French-pressed, drip-brewed or served over ice, we’ve got you covered.

Steady Hand Pour House
1593 North Decatur Road – Emory Village

This semester, Steady Hand replaced Octane in the Village and does not fail to live up to the high standards set by their predecessors. Take a quick walk off campus and stop in for a cozy atmosphere, friendly staff and coffee and tea brewed just for you. They even bake their own cupcake creations like Vanilla Bean Buttercream and Chocolate with Espresso and Cardamom frosting. Yum. Who doesn’t want a little treat during finals?

Java Lords

This small shop is open 7a.m. ‘til 2a.m. most nights so you can get your coffee fix when you need it most. They carry tons of flavored syrups you can use to customize your drink. Raspberry mocha, truffle hot chocolate… the possibilities are endless.
